EAGLE POINT DEFENSIVE
INCOME TRUST
Providing differentiated exposure to Eagle Point’s institutional fund finance strategy through an accessible interval fund structure
Eagle Point Defensive Income Trust (the Fund) seeks to provide a better, more defensive way to gain exposure to private credit by primarily lending to credit funds rather than companies, with an emphasis on:
Generating high current income while preserving capital
Originating investments with significant cushion provided by fund equity investors, underlying portfolio diversification and strong protective covenants
Seeking returns comparable to traditional direct lending funds, but with less risk
The Fund primarily originates and invests in Eagle Point’s Portfolio Debt Securities (PDS),* which are generally fixed income instruments issued by credit funds to finance a portion of their portfolios. The Fund also invests in other related securities and instruments.
Eagle Point Defensive Income Trust is a closed-end management investment company that is registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and operates as an interval fund.
* Eagle Point defines “Portfolio Debt Securities” as primarily debt and preferred equity securities or instruments (including debt and preferred securities which are convertible into common equity) issued by funds and investment vehicles, such as BDCs, registered closed-end investment companies, unregistered private funds, REITs and sponsors of such vehicles, to finance a portion of their underlying investment portfolios.
